More About Brittany

I graduated from the University of Tennessee (UT) in 2004 with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and I worked for 4 years with foster families, at risk youth and their biological families.  I did a great deal of family therapy utilizing the Multi-systemic Therapy (MST) model and I still hold to many of the principles of systems theories that emphasize the human need for connection and support.

In 2009, I completed a Master’s in Clinical Social Work at UT with training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Attachment theories.  I learned a great deal as a graduate intern at a local community mental health center as a therapist for all ages.  Post graduate school, I began working in the Medical field as a counselor in Home Health.  I worked daily with people experiencing grief, anxiety, and medical trauma.

In 2019, I completed a 10 month fellowship during which I learned and fell in love with  Acceptance and Integration TrainingR (AAITTM).  It is AAITTM that is most prevalent in my practice.

When I am not working, I enjoy time with my husband of 16 years and my children.  We live in the Knoxville area and love the beauty that is East Tennessee.
